Stoop Meditation

Saturday, June 22, 2019

10–11:15 am

Brooklyn Museum Plaza

In conjunction with our special exhibition Something to Say: Brooklyn Hi-Art! Machine, Deborah Kass, Kameelah Janan Rasheed, and Hank Willis Thomas, Danielle Fazzolari hosts a special edition of her Stoop Meditation series on the Museum steps. Founded in 2016 in response to increasing political divides and decreasing kindness manifesting in our society, Stoop Meditation is a free guided meditation class to remind everyone that we have community all around, we just need to turn to one another. We'll meditate together outside, first directing the energy inward to connect to ourselves, sinking into the support of the earth underneath us. We'll then expand our attention to welcome in nature and the surrounding environment, from our neighbors' footsteps to the cars driving by, listening to the interconnected dance of life.

This event is free, but please RSVP. All ages are welcome.

To request accommodations such as assistive listening devices, American Sign Language interpretation, and open captioning, email us at access@brooklynmuseum.org.
