Meet the Museum

Registration is now open for May Days!

Ages 2–3, with an adult companion

Little artists meet a big Museum! Toddlers and adults experiment with and explore art through storytelling, song, playful activities, and art-making in the studio. In the afternoon class, four-year-olds are welcome to join their younger siblings (10% sibling discount for each child; maximum of two children per adult).

2021–22 Schedule

May Days

Sundays, May 1, 8, and 15, 2022, 11 am–12:30 pm or 3–4:30 pm
Three sessions: $81.75, Members $76.50
During May Days, we’ll explore who we are, the world around us, and ways in which art can help heal us. After a warm welcome in song and an exploration of art materials, families will spend time in our Asian Art galleries and in our special exhibitions, featuring contemporary artists such as Guadalupe Maravilla. Then, we’ll create our own art with a rich array of materials.

Spring 2022: Makers and Materials 
Thursdays, March 10–April 14, 2022, 11 am–12:30 pm or 4–5:30 pm
Six sessions: $163.50, Members $147 
This spring, we'll explore artists and their processes. Families will discover new materials and experiment with unconventional techniques for making art, with visits to our special exhibitions Andy Warhol: Revelation and Baseera Khan: I Am an Archive.

Winter 2022: Shapes and Lines
Thursdays, January 20–February 17, 2022, 11 am–12:30 pm or 4–5:30 pm
Five sessions: $136.25, Members $122.50
This winter, we'll go on special shape hunts to find some of the many shapes and lines throughout our galleries. Each week, we visit one work of art in our collection galleries or our special exhibitions, including The Slipstream: Reflection, Resilience, and Resistance in the Art of Our Time and Modern Gothic: The Inventive Furniture of Kimbel and Cabus, 1863–82.

Fall 2021: Color My World
Thursdays, October 14–November 18, 2021, 11 am–12:30 pm or 4–5:30 pm
This fall, we'll explore color bursting out all around us and learn how to mix and create our own colors and shades. Each week we visit a new and exciting exhibition, including The Slipstream: Reflection, Resilience, and Resistance in the Art of Our Time and Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, as well as artworks in our collection galleries.
