Teens: Gallery/Studio Program

Registration for spring 2022 is now closed. Please check back in August for information about fall 2022.

The Gallery/Studio Program offers fun, challenging studio art courses. Be inspired by professional teaching artists and spend time discussing artworks from our exhibitions, learn new skills and techniques, and create your own art using both new and traditional materials. Classes are available for children, teens, and adults. All levels of experience welcome!

Spring 2022 courses

Digital Art: Picture Your Story
Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 pm
Explore photography, video, and storytelling, and learn the basics of digital photography and photo printing. Get inspired by artists like Deborah Richardson and Andy Warhol, who incorporated photography in their mixed-media works, then transform your photo prints into unique artworks that explore your personal narrative.

Drawing: Portfolio Development
Sundays, 10:30 am–12:30 pm
Take your drawing skills to the next level, and learn what it takes to apply and be accepted into art-focused schools. Work with pencil, pastel, and ink to create drawings that demonstrate key technical abilities. Then, set your portfolio apart by creating imaginative works inspired by the art in our American and contemporary art collections. Open to all levels of experience.
