Pierre de Wiessant, Second Maquette (Pierre de Wissant, deuxième maquette)
This study established the basic pose and haunted expression of Pierre de Wiessant. It is one of the six individual figures, one-third life-size, that comprised the second maquette Rodin submitted to the Calais monument committee in 1885. (The maquette of Andrieu d’Andres, on view nearby, is another of these.)
