"CUR" at the beginning of an image file name means that the image was created by a curatorial staff member. These study images may be digital point-and-shoot photographs, when we don\'t yet have high-quality studio photography, or they may be scans of older negatives, slides, or photographic prints, providing historical documentation of the object.
Hand-formed and sun-dried Nile mud ushabti of the Chantress of Amon, Ainmose. Covered in white slip with details in black. Mummiform with hoes and sack on back. One column of inscription.
One of a group 37.156E thru 37.161E.
Condition: Poor condition. Broken in two at midpoint of figure and later repaired. Now in one piece, but feet are missing. Paint weathered and very faint. Inscription largely obliterated, as are details of face.
