CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Sugar bowl (a) and lid (b), glazed earthenware. Yellow ware, molded bowl and lid. Squat round bowl has raised foot with rhythmic indentations. Top rim is flared slightly. The design of the bowl consists of two thin, raised vertical lines separated by a slightly concave section. This pattern is repeated six times on the bowl. A similar pattern, although horizontal, runs along the upper rim of the bowl. The applied handles are rather angular and feature a stepped pattern on the sides. The design on the body is echoed on the lid. The vertical lines radiate out on the lower section of the lid, and are repeated six times. The rim of the lid has an identical pattern as the body's rim. The center of the lid has a raised circular area. In center is an acorn shaped finial resting on three raised oak leaves.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. Minor abrasions to base due to use.
