    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION White bodied earthenware plate from the Service Rousseau, with flared rim and slightly scalloped edge. Painted with naturalistic butterfly, stylized branches with leaves, and a flower, in shades of brown, yellow, blue, green, and pink. Asymmetrical disposition indicative of Japonism. Outer rim of plate is painted with overlapping pointed lines in a gradation of blue [dark to light], resembling brush strokes. Good condition. Two small chips to the edge of the plate
