CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Salt and pepper shakers with tray, in silverplate, shaped as the Trylon and Perisphere (Theme Building) of the 1939 New York World's Fair. a: Salt Shaker: Large silver colored sphere with 7 holes for salt. Underside with conforming cork stopper, tapered at end to fit into circular hole in tray. Condition: light black marks from wear. b: Pepper Shaker: Tall triangular pepper shaker, with 9 holes at front, underside with cork stopper. Sits on a triangle shaped hole in tray, next to Persiphere. Condition: light scratches to surface and indent to one side at top. c: Tray: Heavy oval tray with round and triangular holes for shakers, decorated on surface with stippling and to one side, a rising vertical lip. Molded on front of tray: "THEME BUILDING/NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR/1939." Condition: excellent.
