Catalogue Description:
Torah Binder, linen with embroidered decoration, sewn into a horizontal strip with continuous Hebrew inscription in a variety of colors [see catalogue page], embroidered decoration of flowers, goat, butterfly, tree of life, star of David. Originally, this was a swaddling cloth, or "wimpel" for a boy. These types of swaddling cloths were then donated to synagogues and used as Torah Binders. Condition: Good.
